Hosanna, or a Revolution

So i have been listening to the song "Hosanna" by Hillsong United. It is an amazing song, and every time i listen to it, I find something new, something mindblowing, and something that brings me closer to God.
First off, the word Hosanna, or Hoshana in Hebrew, means "please save" or "save now" so just the word makes me want to cry out to God. It was used as a prayer to God, or as a proclamation of faith. This means that people used the word when they were in a place and said "God, save me now, You are crazy, radical, and I know that you can save me."

"I see a generation,
Rising up to take their place,
With selfless faith, Selfless faith
I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees"

This part of the song hits me the hardest. This generation is OUR generation. Its time to stop laying back and taking life as it comes. We need to step up to what God is doing in our lives. This is the God of the UNIVERSE we are talking about, and he is calling you to step up, get to know him, and make an impact on our world. God can do anything, but it's your own choice to listen to what God is saying. If you listen to him, He will do amazing things in your life. I would know, God has changes my life in ways i never thought possible. The time is now, stand up for what you believe in, listen to what God wants to do with your life and get out of your comfort zone. Join the radical movement based in Love, Hope, and God. This is the revival. There is so much hatred and death in our world, its about time that people find out about the True, Boundless Love of God.

"Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you, have loved me"

This verse literally brings me to my knees every time i hear it. All of my prayers since the start of summer have been asking God to heal me, and show me how to Love others. Which is something that He is showing me through my being a leader at Fusion, our junior high ministry at my church 4c's

I know this is a long post, but this is just a little piece about what has been running through my head recently. I would love to know your thoughts on this, as long as its not bashing my love for Christ, because honestly, I could care less if you don't agree with me.

Love,
Brian

  1. Brian, first of all, I love this song too.
My personal favorite line is, "break my heart for what breaks yours"

And I also really like the one you quoted, "show me how to love like you have loved me"

These both just express how we need to let God overtake our mind, our hearts, our thoughts, every part of our being.

We need to love like him, find the beauty in people, and even feel their pain. No issue goes unseen, no problem is unimportant, every day there are countless opportunities to let God's love shine through you. You just have to see the world through God's eyes to see them...

And I really love what you said about how this is our generation and we need to stop just letting it pass by. I completely agree. This is our time, we need to make something out of it.

Ha I wrote a lot, but these were my thoughts in response to this...I'm also a woman so I tend to rant.
